Since 2002, Le Vent du Nord has become an incomparable ambassador of the French language and a major creative force of the Quebec progressive folk movement. The legendary band has performed over 2,400 shows on four continents, released 12 previous albums and received numerous prestigious awards including Artist of the Year at Folk Alliance International and Canadian Folk Music Awards, a Grand Prix du disque Charles Cros (World Music Category, France), two JUNO Awards (Canada), three FÉLIX (Quebec), and the 2023 Songlines Music Awards in the Americas category. The band's music performances, arrangements, compositions, and strong, generous onstage presence are now known worldwide.

The Brudenell has been in the past most famous for hosting secret gigs for bands like Franz Ferdinand and the Kaiser Chiefs. However, it has been a centrepiece of the Leeds music scene for a number of years, and hosts events most nights of the week, which are put on by a variety of local promoters, covering a wide spectrum of genres.
