Vespers is an album about tragedy, written in the ashes of disaster and dedicated to her sister Jessie who passed away in 2024, aged just 35. It is the record of a life and death, an act of devotion and reflection.Vespers is unvarnished, spare and elegiac, a testament of life and death. "The album is very specifically about my sister and my family's situation, but equally, that is universal," Liz says. "It is bewildering to me that grief and death, which happen to literally all of us, are still something we keep locked away. There's no room for it. You have to create that, and most people don't know what to do with it, even when they've gone through it themselves."Vespers was written over a period of three weeks, its songs coming in a short burst, all at once, six months after Jessie died having suffered a serious accident in Ireland. Its music exists at the borders of the before and the after. The album features the singles ‘Exploded Into Flowers,’ ‘Black Ulysses’ and ‘A Good One’.

Brudenell welcome assistance dogs into the venue and will happily provide a bowl of water if needed. However, not all events are suitable so please contact the venue beforehand.The Brudenell is a lively and fun loving venue that embraces music and art under a wide and diverse umbrella that has no boundaries.
The Brudenell has been in the past most famous for hosting secret gigs for bands like Franz Ferdinand and the Kaiser Chiefs. However, it has been a centrepiece of the Leeds music scene for a number of years, and hosts events most nights of the week, which are put on by a variety of local promoters, covering a wide spectrum of genres.
The Brudenell is not just about music... facilities include: a lounge, Games Room with Snooker Table, 5 Pool Tables, Darts, Table Football, two large concert room, Sky TV and BT Sport showing all the live sports in HD.
