The ultimate afrobeat experience is finally coming home on the most seminal day possible: Dele Sosimi’s Afrobeat Vibration party returns to The Jazz Cafe (after a 5 year absence from our historic venue) on New Years Eve!
For many years, Afrobeat Vibration was one of Jazz Cafe’s late night staples. A full orchestra of all-star players (lead and conducted by Dele himself) play a 4 HOUR marathon session channeling the party spirit from the sound’s glorious history.
A direct nod to the music, history and legacy of Fela Kuti (for whom Dele played keys for), you can expect to hear Dele’s Afrobeat anthems such as ‘Too Much Information’, ‘E Go Betta’ alongside Fela Kuti classics like ‘Water Get No Enemy’, ‘Beats of No Nation’ and many more surprises along the way.
With a strong vision on recreating the sparkling atmosphere of Fela’s Lagos club, Afrika Shrine, expect a late-night explosion of afrobeat rhythms, setting alight The Jazz Cafe dancefloor with their big band energy just like they did for us across many, many years.
This is going to be a very special New Years Eve indeed.
