ANWL

Sub89, Reading is a great venue that really lets you get up close to the band. As for ANWL, they just get better and better and were ably supported by The Deckchairs.

Anti-Nowhere League, Sub 89, Reading - 22nd November 2024

Anti-Nowhere League are the unapologetic, no-holds-barred legends of UK punk. Bursting onto the scene in the early 80s, they made an instant impact with their raw energy, rebellious spirit, and a notorious reputation for pushing boundaries. Their debut album, We Are... The League (1982), remains one of punk’s most defiant statements, packed with anthems that spit in the face of conformity.

Led by the unmistakable growl of frontman Animal, Anti-Nowhere League carved out a legacy with tracks like "So What?"—a song so controversial it was banned, only to be revived years later by Metallica’s iconic cover. Despite clashes with the establishment, the band endured, outlasting trends and proving that punk’s fire never dies.

Decades later, they’re still going strong, delivering their brand of high-octane, no-nonsense punk to dedicated fans across the globe. Loud, unfiltered, and unrepentant—Anti-Nowhere League remain the real deal.
