Me and my gig mates are constantly surprised by the many great bands out there that are smashing it, up and down the country each week. They seem to find it hard to get much recognition and airplay, and yet they still seem to survive. Bugeye are 1 such band, it was the 1st time I'd seen them, but hopefully won't be my last. They are a brilliant driven band and look great up on stage, they are the equal of many , seemingly more successful bands, so I'm at a loss as to why they've not had more success. Anyway, I can't argue the case for that , if you like quirky , great , driven songs , in the similar vein of , C mat, Gossip, hot chip, and anything a bit punky, this is the band for you. Can't wait to see them again.

Bugeye, Le Pub, Newport - 3rd May 2024
Bugeye are a dazzling sequin-adorned indie rock quintet from London.
Their releases include the debut album Ready Steady Bang (2020) which was followed by a remix EP the following year. Forever unique, Bugeye bring it all - an eclectic blend of disco beats, sizzling synths and dirty guitars. Expect power chord punk with cherry-liqueur lyrics, goth-heavy drumming with lush bass riffs.
