Devin is a creative genius who never fails to deliver!
Our last gig of the year, and what an excellent one to end it on! Devin and the band were on top form, playing numerous songs off the newest album Empath alongside a selection of tunes from his various musical projects. The Empath tracks were particularly spectacular played live, with a female guest vocalist and choir joining him on stage. All accompanied by Devin's wise-cracking and unique sense of humour - I laughed, a lot. I was also moved close to tears by Kingdom. I left with a massive smile of my face. Can't wait to see Hevy Devy back on the festival circuit next year!

Devin Townsend is a Canadian musician, producer and songwriter known for his ambitious approach to progressive metal and experimental rock. Rising to prominence in the 1990s through his work with Steve Vai on the album Sex & Religion (1993), Townsend quickly established himself as a distinctive creative force with projects including Strapping Young Lad and The Devin Townsend Project. Across a prolific solo career, he has explored everything from extreme metal to ambient and orchestral music, earning acclaim for albums such as Ocean Machine: Biomech (1997), Addicted! (2009) and Empath (2019).
Renowned for his dynamic live performances and genre-defying sound, Townsend has toured extensively across the UK and internationally, appearing at festivals including Download and Bloodstock. His music combines technical precision with emotional depth, often balancing moments of intensity with humour and introspection.
