Always a great band to see live, a good mix of songs, a few new ones but lots from their back catalogue too.

Jimmy Eat World, Rock City, Nottingham - 23rd January 2019
Jimmy Eat World are an American alternative rock band from Arizona, celebrated for their emotive songwriting, sharp guitar work and the uplifting, melodic style that helped define early-2000s emo and alt-rock. Formed in 1993, the band — Jim Adkins (vocals, guitar), Tom Linton (guitar, vocals), Rick Burch (bass) and Zach Lind (drums) — steadily built a devoted following with their blend of confessional lyrics and anthemic hooks. Their breakthrough came with Bleed American (2001), a landmark album featuring enduring favourites such as “The Middle”, “Sweetness” and “A Praise Chorus”, songs that remain staples of rock radio and festival stages around the world.
Over the decades, Jimmy Eat World have continued to evolve while staying true to the heartfelt spirit at the core of their music. Albums such as Futures (2004), Chase This Light (2007) and Integrity Blues (2016) highlight their growth, with expansive production, emotional depth and a refined sense of craft. On stage, the band are a compelling live force — tight, energetic and packed with the kind of emotional punch that has made their music resonate for generations. With a career spanning more than thirty years, Jimmy Eat World remain one of alternative rock’s most beloved and enduring bands.
