Joe & the Shit Boys, Le Pub, Newport - 29th May 2025
Joe & The Shitboys are a queer vegan punk band from the Faroe Islands, delivering a raw, high-energy sound packed with satirical and confrontational lyrics. Formed in 2019, the band—fronted by Joe Shit alongside Ziggy Shit, Johnny Shit, and Ollie Shit—set out to call out toxic masculinity, homophobia, and conservative values within their local rock scene. Their blistering tracks, often under a minute long, blend hardcore punk intensity with an absurd, tongue-in-cheek sense of humour, earning them comparisons to Dead Kennedys and IDLES.
Their debut album, The Reson For Hardcore Vibes (2020), followed by MUSIC (2021), introduced tracks like "If You Believe in Eating Meat, Start With Your Dog" and "Life Is Great You Suck", which typify their no-nonsense, socially charged punk ethos. Renowned for their chaotic and unpredictable live shows, Joe & The Shitboys have taken their wild performances across the UK and Europe, playing everything from DIY venues to underground tunnels and museums. With their relentless energy and fearless approach, they remain one of the most exciting and provocative punk acts around today.
