Joe & The Shitboys are a queer vegan shit-punk band from the Faroe Islands who blend ferocious energy with biting humour and political urgency. Songs like “Life Is Great You Suck”, “If You Believe in Eating Meat Start With Your Dog” and “Save The Planet You Dumb Shit” rip through with barely a minute to breathe, frontman Joe roasting both local conservatism and broader bullshit alike. They’ve released The Reson For Hardcore Vibes (2020), The Reson For Hardcore Vibes (Again) (2021) and The Reson For Hardcore Vibes III (2024), each originally pressed on 7-inch vinyl owing to their blistering, rapid-fire total lengths.
Their live shows are riotous, unforgettable affairs: crowd interaction is essential, songs hit hard and fast, and there’s always a sense of breathing space being smashed. They’ve caught attention at UK festivals and venues, supported Iggy Pop on UK headline dates, and built a reputation far bigger than their tiny island home. With their compilation Greatest Shits (2025), which includes new material alongside their earlier output, they continue to sharpen their voice and stretch what punk can do.
