John Grant and his fellow musicians gave an amazing moving performance. If only the organisers could have left the first couple of rows clear of seating to allow for some dancing.

John Grant, Rock City, Nottingham - 5th February 2019
John Grant at the Brixton O2 Academy was a splendid treat of powerful synths, soaring guitars, energetic drumming (by none other than Budgie), topped off by the wonderful cherry that is John's vocals, delivering his heartfelt, sincere and outright poignant lyrics on a range of subjects such as love, life, romance, relationships and politics. He has a way; an uncanny knack, of saying in song exactly what you are thinking about our society and world as a whole at this time, and his fans adore him; a love that is clearly reciprocated. 'I view this as my artistic home' he says, and whether that is the UK or the Brixton Academy in particular is not important. Witty, sincere, funny and engaged, delivered in a rich Baritone voice, John and his band always deliver and we await eagerly to see what he produces in the future. Hurry back John. The world needs you!
