Josh Rouse - 1972: 20th Anniversary Show, Academy 3, Manchester - 21st September 2023
As someone who has been a fan since "Home" 18 years ago I couldn't believe he was playing at a small venue 20 mins away. Just Josh and a guitar and an amazing performance. Very laid back, good patter with the crowd and a well chosen selection of songs. His voice live is weirdly better than on his albums. A great time was had by all.

Josh Rouse, The Courtyard, London - 24th November 2017
American singer-songwriter Josh Rouse has spent close to three decades turning everyday moments into warm, literate songs. Since his 1998 debut Dressed Up Like Nebraska, he has built one of Americana's most quietly rewarding catalogues, fusing vintage folk, roots rock and sunny AM-radio pop into a sound entirely his own. His breakout album 1972 (2003) and its follow-up Nashville (2005) remain firm fan favourites, both shaped by his long-time producer Brad Jones, with whom he reunites on his New West Records debut, Museums and Women.
Rouse's story stretches well beyond the studio. He played Glastonbury's Acoustic Stage in 2004 and has toured the UK many times over, winning a devoted following with his gently witty, intimate live shows. After a decade living in Spain, where he picked up a Goya Award in 2014 for his song "Do You Really Want To Be In Love" from the film La Gran Familia Española, he returned to Nashville in 2018. Nearly 30 years in, he remains a generous, unhurried performer with a real knack for finding beauty in the ordinary.
