We’d seen their Awake Arise tour, and the album is now required Christmas listening. Wakefire didn’t disappoint! What an inspiring and enjoyable show - so much more than just the songs (masterpieces in themselves, musicianship off the scale) . Loved loved loved it.

Lady Maisery, Firth Hall, Sheffield - 16th June 2026
Wakefire: Lady Maisery, Jimmy Aldridge & Sid Goldsmith What joy to hear and see all of these wonderful musicians and composers together! The music is sublime and their harmonies gorgeous; I could sink into them. After their lovely 'Awake Arise' for winter, this is a truly beautiful and astonishing labour of love to summer. Such musicianship - I can't recommend highly enough!

This is the second time I have seen Wakefire performed and it's like being in a blissful dream from start to finish.

The three musicians produced great harmonies and 3 individual superb vocals. Their multi instrumentalism was shown as they played 12 instruments between them. Good venue with great acoustics and the right size for the gig. The only slight downside for me was the quality of some of the songs.

LADY MAISERY, St Mary's Church, Broughty Ferry - 11th October 2024
If you like a band that starts with a folk tradition and takes it on a long and exciting journey to new and exciting places, this could be for you. Beautifully written, mostly by themselves, and sung from the heart, I've followed Lady Maisery since their appearance on Celtic Connections in 2023 and have enjoyed not one but two performances from them this week, since they performed only a few miles from where I live. Check them out on YouTube.
