Shonen Knife, Rescue Rooms, Nottingham - 3rd June 2025
Fantastic gig
One of the most enjoyable gigs I've ever been to. Although I didn't know any of their songs until last night I loved every minute. I had a big smile on my face all the way through. The drummer, Risa, was amazing, a real powerhouse. If you want a great night out then Shonen Knife delivers in spades.

Shonen Knife’s music is characterised by its upbeat, catchy melodies, straightforward song structures, and playful, often humorous lyrics. Their style is heavily influenced by the punk rock movement, but also incorporates elements of 1960s pop, garage rock, and even the occasional nod to Japanese pop culture.
Over the decades, Shonen Knife has released numerous albums, with highlights including Burning Farm (1983) and Let's Knife (1992), which introduced their energetic sound to Western audiences.
