Simply Red - 40th Anniversary, Co-op Live, Manchester - 27th September 2025
We had an amazing evening re-living our younger years again with 2 of my favourites. Soul II Soul - Jazzy being Jazzy x Simply Red were all we expected the set list was brilliant for both. Love, love, loved it. Mick has mellowed but he still has that "something" that get's the ladies going. x

Simply Red - 40th Anniversary, The O2 arena, London - 10th October 2025
Formed in Manchester in 1985 and led by the unmistakable voice of Mick Hucknall, Simply Red have spent four decades as one of Britain's most successful soul-pop bands. From their debut album Picture Book onwards, they built a run of enduring songs, including "Holding Back the Years", "If You Don't Know Me by Now", "Something Got Me Started" and their first UK Number 1 single, "Fairground". Both "Holding Back the Years" and "If You Don't Know Me by Now" also topped the US Billboard Hot 100, and their 1991 album Stars became one of the best-selling records in UK chart history.
Along the way they've collected five UK Number 1 albums, ten Top 10 UK singles, two BRIT Awards for Best British Group, two Ivor Novellos and three Grammy nominations, with worldwide sales of more than 50 million albums. Since reforming in 2015, they've kept doing what they do best: warm, high-energy shows where tender ballads and euphoric singalongs lift whole crowds to their feet, making them one of the most reliably enjoyable live acts around.
