Drove down from London nice and early. Such a lovely bright sunny day and great to be beside the sea! Katherine Priddy was on first, she’s good… but Suzanne was fantastic, great songs , old and new, perfect… A wonderful evening! 🤗💕

Suzanne Vega - Flying with Angels, Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone - 24th June 2026
Suzanne Vega was on great form. Been a few years since I last saw her. Really good gig, nice mix of old favourites and new songs.

Suzanne Vega put on a wonderful show at the Royal Albert Hall. She ran through all the old favourites and added a few new songs (not too many!) Her voice sounded wonderful in the huge hall and both the guitarist and cellist provided fabulous support.

What an absolutely brilliant evening, not only did I get to experience the wonderfully talented, engaging and incredibly amusing Susan Vega, I got the bonus of Katherine Priddy and George Boomsma who I've heard many times on Mark Radcliffe's Folk Show on 6 Music. A twofer! Top, top, night!

Widely regarded as one of the foremost songwriters of her generation, Suzanne Vega emerged as a leading figure of the folk revival of the early 1980s.
Accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, Vega sang what has been called contemporary folk or neo-folk songs of her own creation in Greenwich Village clubs. Since the release of her self-titled, critically acclaimed 1985 debut album, she has given sold-out concerts in many of the world’s best-known venues.
Known for performances that convey deep emotion, Vega’s distinctive, “clear, unwavering voice” (Rolling Stone) has been described as “a cool, dry sandpaper-brushed near whisper” by The Washington Post, with NPR Music noting that she “has been making vital, inventive music” throughout the course of her decades-long career.
Bearing the stamp of a masterful storyteller who “observes the world with a clinically poetic eye” (The New York Times), Vega’s songs have tended to focus on city life, ordinary people and real-world subjects. Notably succinct and understated, her work is immediately recognizable—as utterly distinct and thoughtful as it was when her voice was first heard on the radio over 40 years ago.
