Swervedriver, Dryden Street Social, Leicester - 19th May 2018
One of my favourite bands Swervedriver returned to Glasgow to play the ABC2 this time. Its such a great venue as is the bigger venue next to it.I've seen lots of bands in here over the years and it is always a good experience.A 2 and a half hour set with only a 15 minute break so we were spoilt by the band who performed their first 2 albums then a few old favourites including a cover of Jesus by the Velvet Underground.Such a great night.Easy to see and hear, easy to find the toilet and easy to get a drink,no hassle, just a good experience all around at a reasonable price.Thank you.Tim.

Swervedriver, O2 ABC2 Glasgow, Glasgow - 16th May 2018
Swervedriver are an English alternative rock band formed in Oxford in 1989, known for blending shoegaze textures with driving rock rhythms and melodic songwriting. Emerging alongside the early 1990s shoegaze movement, the band stood apart through their heavier, more dynamic sound, combining swirling guitars with influences drawn from psychedelia, punk and classic rock. Their debut album Raise (1991), featuring tracks such as “Son of Mustang Ford” and “Rave Down”, established them as one of the defining bands of the era.
Across releases including Mezcal Head (1993) and Ejector Seat Reservation (1995), Swervedriver continued to develop their expansive guitar-driven sound, earning a devoted international following. After reforming in 2008, the band returned with acclaimed later albums including I Wasn’t Born to Lose You (2015) and Future Ruins (2019). Renowned for their powerful live performances and immersive sound, Swervedriver remain one of the most influential and enduring bands to emerge from the UK alternative scene.
