The Beat feat. Ranking JNR brings together the enduring legacy of one of the UK’s most influential ska bands with a new generation of vocal fire. Originally formed in Birmingham, The Beat helped define the late ’70s and early ’80s two-tone movement with their sharp blend of ska, pop, punk and reggae, pairing irresistible grooves with socially aware songwriting. With Ranking JNR — son of original Beat toaster Ranking Roger — stepping into the role of frontman, the band honour their roots while injecting fresh energy and perspective into the classic sound.

Live, The Beat feat. Ranking JNR are celebrated for vibrant, joy-filled performances that unite long-time fans and new audiences alike. Their sets balance much-loved anthems with renewed spirit, driven by punchy rhythms, brass flourishes and Ranking JNR’s charismatic vocal delivery. Touring extensively across the UK and internationally, the band continue to carry forward the inclusive, dancefloor-ready ethos that made The Beat a cornerstone of British ska, proving the music’s message and movement remain as vital as ever.
