Great double header.

What a great double header concert this was, the support, Midnight Rodeo, maybe not as polished as the Howlers, were very subtle but Brilliant, loved them. When your my age and have watched the likes of Supergrass, Charlatans etc, Howlers compare to them favourably but, on the night, for creativity and being different, it was Midnight Rodeo that pipped it for me. I'd watch both again.

The Howlers, Le Pub, Newport - 11th October 2024

THREE PIECE POWERHOUSE

From the opening cord, the huge sound, power and energy of The Howlers had me lit up and mesmerised. These guys are probably the most powerul three piece since Weller, Foxton and Buckler delivered In the City.

The Howlers, Le Pub, Newport - 11th October 2024

The Howlers are a London-based rock trio — Adam Young (vocals, guitar), Guus ter Braak (bass) and Tom Triggs (drums) — whose raw, desert-rock sound fuses rugged guitar riffs, soulful rhythms and intensely candid lyricism. Formed in East London around 2018-19, the band have drawn on bluesy textures, 70s-inspired grooves and a cinematic mindset to craft music that feels both timeless and edge-driven.

Their debut album What You’ve Got to Lose to Win It All (2024) was born from trauma, survival and creative resolve — following lineup changes, health crises and personal loss — and emerged as a visceral statement of resilience. With live performances noted for their intensity, authenticity and “leave-everything-on-stage” attitude, The Howlers are carving out a distinct place in the UK rock scene with music that channels grit, heart and a sense of catharsis.
