Awesome gig
A great band in a most wonderful grassroots venue. My first time to see the Mekons, though I cut my teeth on punk and post punk. Lots of space in the venue yet well attended and I way able to get right up close to the stage: I even took a photo of the band's setlist! I will definitely be returning to the Corn Exchange.

The Mekons are an enduring force in punk and alt-country, blending raw energy with folk influences since their formation in 1977. Albums like Fear and Whiskey (1985) and Deserted (2019) display their knack for pushing genre boundaries while delivering politically charged and emotionally rich songs. Tracks like "Where Were You?" and “The Olde Trip to Jerusalem” remain fan favourites.
