What a gig and great small venue
I’ve seen The Primitives on numerous occasions and this was as good as any. They can still knock it out with the energy and passion offered in their early years. This was the first time I’d been to Le Pub and being a fan of small indie venues the place didn’t disappoint: great sound, intimate, fair drink pricing and a good size bar space with a great vibe - top venue for an amazing band!

Bands first visit to Newport- hopefully not their last
Still got it haven't they- an enthusiastic crowd of loyal fans given a treat in an intimate venue. Special night with all the hits and more and still worth seeing fast energetic and well it's Tracy Tracy isn't- it say no more

The Primitives are the UK indie-pop darlings best known for their shimmering 1988 hit "Crash." Formed in Coventry in the mid-1980s, the band burst onto the scene with their infectious blend of jangly guitars, breezy melodies, and the effortlessly cool vocals of frontwoman Tracy Tracy.
Their debut album, Lovely (1988), became an instant classic of the indie-pop and jangle-pop era, featuring fan favourites like "Crash," "Out of Reach," and "Way Behind Me." With a sound that bridged the gap between the raw energy of punk and the dreamy sweetness of '60s pop, The Primitives found themselves at the forefront of the late-'80s indie scene.
Though they disbanded in the early '90s, the band reunited in 2009 and have since continued to tour and release new music, including the albums Echoes and Rhymes (2012) and Spin-O-Rama (2014). Their timeless, feel-good sound still resonates, proving that The Primitives remain as fresh and vital as ever.
