Best known as the solo project of Dylan Young, Way Dynamic crafts understated yet richly textured songs filled with warmth, wit and offbeat charm. Alongside his work with Melbourne favourites Cool Sounds and Good Morning, Young has also performed with Snowy Band and Kankawa Nagarra, bringing a broad musical palette to Way Dynamic’s gently expansive sound. His 2025 album Massive Shoe saw him take centre stage as songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, delivering a collection of luminous, timeless songs that balance sincerity with playful eccentricity.
Praised by artists including Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield and Elton John, Way Dynamic has steadily become one of Australia’s most quietly celebrated emerging projects. Whether exploring heartfelt miscommunication, surreal daydreams or strange emotional detours, Young’s songwriting feels both nostalgic and unmistakably modern. Following tours with Katie Crutchfield and MJ Lenderman, plus upcoming shows supporting Black Country, New Road and This Is Lorelei, Way Dynamic continues to build momentum as one of indie music’s most distinctive new voices.
