Alison Moyet, Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow - 21st March 2025

Alison Moyet is a celebrated British singer-songwriter known for her powerful contralto voice and distinctive blend of pop, synth-pop and blues influences. She first rose to prominence in the early 1980s as the lead vocalist of the pioneering synth-pop duo Yazoo, alongside Vince Clarke of Depeche Mode. The pair achieved international success with songs such as “Only You” and “Situation”, helping define the sound of the era with a combination of electronic innovation and emotional depth.

Following Yazoo’s success, Moyet launched a highly successful solo career with her debut album Alf (1984), which featured the hit single “Love Resurrection”. Across albums including Hoodoo (1991), The Minutes (2013) and Other (2017), she has continued to evolve her sound while maintaining the emotional honesty and vocal power that define her work. Renowned for her commanding voice and timeless songwriting, Alison Moyet remains one of the most distinctive and enduring figures in British pop music.
