Mind-blowing vocals and sax

I was blown away, as the performance was so immersive and intense, but also so tight. Incredible execution. Anna Von Hausswolff's vocals soar, taking you from tantalising intimacy to electrifying heights, as they ride awesome waves of harmonic, rhythmic and percussive textures, with the whole group united in the continual swell and surge. Iconoclasts was an unforgettable ride!

Atmospheric and uplifting

Fantastic performance - one of those concerts that gets better and better the longer it goes on. She is an amazing performer and her band was excellent.

Anna Von Hausswolff, Electric Brixton, London - 28th January 2026

Anna Michaela Ebba Electra von Hausswolff is a Gothenburg-born singer, composer and pipe-organ virtuoso whose music fuses gothic art-pop, drone, and experimental rock into haunting, emotionally luminous soundscapes. Her 2012 album Ceremony introduced her signature use of the pipe organ, recorded in a church and woven through with folk, ambient and post-rock textures a bold debut that topped the Swedish charts and earned critical applause. Subsequent releases including The Miraculous (2015), Dead Magic (2018) and the purely instrumental All Thoughts Fly (2020) have deepened her exploration of contrast bright and dark, sacred and uncanny with each album pushing boundaries in imaginative and visceral ways.

Anna’s dedication to the mysterious power of the organ an instrument she describes as ‘unchanging’ yet ever-revealing is matched by her reputation as a striking live performer, at home in dimly lit churches, festivals, and experimental stages alike. Her work is as immersive as it is otherworldly, inviting listeners to linger in its ethereal, dark-beauty world.
