Biggest surprise of the night was the success of the support band 'God Damn'. They made a brilliant impression and I'm excited to see more of them in the future. 'Bat Sabbath's' performance got a lot bigger throughout the night. The crowd and band were awesome and to top it off, 'Cancer Bats' made an appearance and rocked their songs even harder. Overall an enjoyable night. Will advise anyone to see them if given the opportunity.

Bat Sabbath, Thekla, Bristol - 13th June 2017
Bat Sabbath are the ferocious alter ego of Canadian metal punks Cancer Bats — a project born from their deep admiration for the mighty Black Sabbath. Channelling the primal energy and timeless riffs of the original heavy metal pioneers, Bat Sabbath deliver thunderous, sweat-drenched shows that honour the spirit of Sabbath with unrelenting passion. Fusing punk attitude with classic metal power, their performances are a full-force celebration of the songs that shaped generations of heavy music.
Armed with an arsenal of iconic tracks such as War Pigs, Iron Man and Paranoid, Bat Sabbath bring a wild, festival-ready energy to every stage they hit. Equal parts tribute and reinvention, their shows capture the raw electricity of early heavy metal while injecting it with the chaos and charisma that define Cancer Bats. Loud, unfiltered and unapologetically devoted to the riff, Bat Sabbath stand as a living testament to the enduring power of Black Sabbath’s legacy.
