The gig as a whole was very good. Emma Buckley was superb, and Jack Carty proved a very fine singer and acoustic guitarist. I did enjoy the Blair Dunlop set. However, it was slightly marred by because I could not hear the lyrics clearly in his set. I do not know whether this was due to the sound set-up, or Blair's particular style of singing. He tended to use the whole range of his voice from loud and clear, down to soft and inaudible. This did detract a bit from the experience. However, on the up side for Blair this meant we would have to buy the album to get all the lyrics! Otherwise the usual strong performance from him, and the venue was, as always, a brilliant stage for good music, and excellent value for money.
