Boys Like Girls are an American pop-rock band formed in Massachusetts in 2005, known for their anthemic choruses, heartfelt lyricism and a sound that blends emo, pop-punk and glossy radio-ready hooks. Fronted by vocalist and guitarist Martin Johnson, the band rose to fame with their self-titled debut album Boys Like Girls (2006), which delivered fan favourites including “Hero/Heroine”, “Thunder” and the massive hit “The Great Escape”. Their follow-up Love Drunk (2009) pushed their sound further into pop territory, featuring the charting title track and a high-profile collaboration with Taylor Swift on “Two Is Better Than One”.
After a period of reduced activity and shifting line-ups, Boys Like Girls made a triumphant return with new music and renewed energy, reconnecting with fans old and new through nostalgia-fuelled tours and fresh releases. Their latest chapter, including the album Sunday at Foxwoods (2023), finds the band blending matured songwriting with the same emotional spark that defined their early success.
