An intimate performance
Eddie was on for an hour and a half and played with a band of four. The instruments were traditional and the band were excellent. Eddie told a lot of stories between songs and her performance was as terrific as possible. The songs chosen were a bit eclectic but Eddie’s voice being as marvellous as ever made it a terrific evening.

The whole show was ‘perfect’ Eddie Reader’s voice was amazing she was funny & looked great the band & sound couldn’t have been better & the venue was great!

Eddi Reader rose to prominence as the lead singer of Fairground Attraction, whose 1988 single “Perfect” became a global hit and earned the band a BRIT Award for Best British Single. Born in Glasgow, Reader’s musical career spans folk, pop and traditional Scottish music, marked by her expressive vocals and emotional depth. After the success of Fairground Attraction, she embarked on a solo career that has seen her explore a wide range of styles while maintaining her signature authenticity.
Her acclaimed solo releases include Eddi Reader (1994), Peacetime (2007) and Cavalier (2018), each showcasing her ability to blend heartfelt songwriting with rich, folk-inspired arrangements. Beyond her recordings, Reader is a captivating live performer, having graced venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and major festivals including Cambridge Folk Festival. A multi-BRIT Award winner and frequent collaborator with artists such as Jools Holland, she continues to be celebrated for her storytelling, generosity of spirit and unmistakable voice — a true national treasure in the Scottish and British music scenes.
