Gen and the Degenerates are a North-west art-punk trio who make being clever look like an awful lot of fun. Fronted by Genevieve Glynn-Reeves, they fuse New York art-punk cool and a very British sense of humour with the kind of danceable pop hooks that get whole rooms moving, drawing on the spirit of Talking Heads and LCD Soundsystem. Glynn-Reeves' lyrics are sharp and perceptive without ever taking themselves too seriously, which is a big part of why they've become one of the country's most talked-about new bands.

Their debut album Anti-Fun Propaganda (2024) arrived via Marshall Records, a witty, warm-hearted take on surviving your twenties in a chaotic world. They've since built a reputation as an incendiary live act, headlining their own UK tours, touring the US in support of Celtic punks Flogging Molly, and turning heads at SXSW. Along the way they've played festivals including Truck, YNOT, The Great Escape and the main stage at 2000 Trees, plus European dates at Sziget and Reeperbahn. Loud, funny and defiant, they're a proper live band worth catching.
