Johnny & the Raindrops are Nottingham's own rock 'n' roll band for children and families, blending skiffle-flavoured tunes with plenty of jumping, singing and joyful mayhem. Fronted by Johnny — otherwise known as Dr Liam Maloy, who holds a PhD in music made for children — the band write and record original songs full of warmth, imagination and a cheeky sense of fun. Tracks such as "Everybody's Body is Different", "Be Yourself" and "Life Is Better on a Bicycle" show off their knack for catchy songs that actually mean something.
Live is where the Raindrops really shine. Their interactive shows come with props, costumes and wooden guitars for little ones to play, and every performance is designed to be relaxed and welcoming for all. Over the years they've brought the fun to the Edinburgh Fringe, Nottingham's Theatre Royal, Towersey Festival, the Gateway to Southwell Folk Festival and the Wheee! International Children's Festival, alongside hundreds of gigs across the UK. Expect dancing, giggling and a proper singalong from start to finish.
