Greatest live performer I've seen!

Jordan Rakei's voice is unique and fresh with hints of R and B/ soul that will lift you up and have you singing along from the get go. He's talented and plays multiple instruments whilst singing which is a sight to behold itself. He engages with the crowd and gets you involved by getting you to join in on his iconic song lyrics. Overall he is an amazing performer with a mellow voice that will inspire you! I highly recommend and I cannot wait until he's back on Gigantic for another dose!

Jordan Rakei , KOKO, London - 11th April 2017

wow

The venue itself is so beautiful for one. Listening to Jordan live is an experience I wish to relive as he sounds exactly as he does on record. He sings with so much soul and constantly thanked his audience for allowing him to be in the position he is in today... it made the experience much more personal and his gratitude was evident. A really nice set list with both old songs and ones from Cloak. Surprised us with a brand new song.... all I can say is I wish he hadn't because now I have to wait until it comes out to ever hear it again. He was amazing.

Magical

I saw Jordan Rakei in the Bussey Building in Peckham last year and I much preferred that as a venue. I am not a fan of the acoustics in the larger venues and I find that it's always better when these types of shows are intimate. Perhaps he might come back to the Jazz Café or somewhere similar. Jordan is a phenomenal performer, one of the best I've ever seen and I will have absolutely no hesitation seeing him when he comes to perform again!

Multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, producer, and songwriter Jordan Rakei is back with his fourth studio album, What We Call Life, released via Ninja Tune. What We Call Lifeis Jordan Rakei’s most vulnerable and intimate album to date. Its lyrics concern the lessons that the New Zealand-born, Australia-raised, and London-based artist learned about himself during therapy, a journey that began two years ago when he started reading about the ‘positive psychology’ movement. Rakei, already a practitioner of meditation and mindfulness, was curious about the potential of using therapy for further self-discovery. During the process, he began to learn more about his behaviour patterns and anxieties, and addressed his long-standing irrational phobia of birds a fear often associated with the unpredictable and the unknown, and something explored in the album’s creative direction and visuals.
