Immense* a total wonderful experience

Kae is my favourite artist… watch him and his show is it like living a collective ritual. Kae is there, as a performer, as an incredible singer, as a delicate shaman, who understood important things about life and wants to share his secrets with us. I love Kae and the gig was amazing*

Kae Tempest, Thekla, Bristol - 26th March 2025

Kae Tempest is a poet, playwright, novelist and musician whose work defies categorisation, blending spoken word, hip-hop and theatre with raw emotional intensity. Their debut album, Everybody Down (2014), was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, setting the stage for a career defined by sharp lyricism and socially charged storytelling. Follow-up albums like Let Them Eat Chaos (2016) and The Line Is a Curve (2022) further showcased their ability to weave personal introspection with wider political and cultural themes. Alongside their musical output, Tempest is a celebrated writer, with acclaimed poetry collections and plays that explore identity, resilience and the human condition.

Kae Tempest’s live performances are deeply affecting, drawing audiences into their world with an unmatched intensity. They have captivated crowds at Glastonbury, Latitude Festival and Edinburgh International Festival, as well as headlining venues like London’s O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire. Their ability to connect through words—whether spoken, rapped or written—has made them one of the UK’s most vital and thought-provoking voices, continuously pushing the boundaries of performance and storytelling.
