Brighton folk-rockers Levellers have been one of Britain’s most enduring and best-loved bands for nearly 40 years. And part of that incredible success has been built on the timeless anthems that comprised their platinum-selling, second album Levelling The Land, which celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2026.
To mark the occasion Levellers will be heading out on the road on a UK & European tour, playing many of the songs from that album, alongside further fan-favourites from their extensive catalogue.
Bassist Jeremy Cunningham says, “This year we celebrate 35 years of Levelling the Land! So we’re looking forward to getting out on the road and playing some of our favourite songs from that album - plus some other classics too. We’ll see you there!”
Levelling The Land was originally released in 1991 and features the hit singles ‘One Way’, ‘15 Years’ and ‘Far From Home’ plus ‘The Game’, ‘Liberty Song’, ‘Riverflow’, ‘Boatman’ and the incendiary ‘Battle Of The Beanfield’.
During that summer, Levelling The Land redefined the UK’s musical landscape providing the soundtrack for a society fed up with the twin evils of Thatcherite politics, and the post-80’s pre-grunge musical wasteland. They followed that release with the Number 1 album Zeitgeist a few years later, solidifying Levellers at the forefront of British music, as a counter-cultural voice alongside Britpop contemporaries such as Blur, Oasis, Pulp, Suede, Supergrass and more.
The cultural and musical legacy of Levellers runs deep with echoes of their work found in contemporary music, grassroots political movements and the evolution of British festival culture.
Famed for their high-tempo live performances Levellers are a must-see band with a devoted following and these shows celebrating Levelling The Land 35 are sure to sell-out quickly.
