Marmozets, The Kasbah, Coventry - 10th May 2018
The band really got Cambridge rocking, with plenty of moshing and dancing evidence that the exuberant energy the band expelled on stage translated into the crowd. The local promoter Green Mind do a great job of getting excellent acts to come to town and the Junction is an intimate, energy carrying venue. The sound at the Junction can vary but the intimacy of the location, energy of the band and quality of the music was incredible!

Marmozets, Cambridge Junction, Cambridge - 6th February 2018
Marmozets are a rock band from Bingley, West Yorkshire, whose thrilling fusion of post-hardcore, math rock and melodic alternative rock has made them one of the UK’s most exciting and fearless acts. Formed in 2007 by siblings Becca, Sam and Josh Macintyre alongside Jack Bottomley, the band quickly gained a reputation for complex rhythms, explosive live performances and a sound that defied easy categorisation. Their debut album The Weird and Wonderful Marmozets (2014) earned widespread acclaim — praised for its inventive energy and emotional ferocity — and went on to win the Kerrang! Award for Best Album the following year. Tracks such as “Why Do You Hate Me?” and “Move, Shake, Hide” captured their balance of chaos and melody, setting a new standard for British alternative rock.
Their follow-up, Knowing What You Know Now (2018), saw Marmozets return stronger than ever after frontwoman Becca Macintyre’s recovery from a serious knee injury, showcasing a more refined yet equally powerful sound. Known for their explosive shows and uncompromising artistry, the band continue to evolve while maintaining the intensity and inventiveness that first defined them. With a new chapter unfolding under Nettwerk, Marmozets remain a vital force — modern, bold, and unafraid to push boundaries.
