Why are not more people going to see this band - absolutely brilliant and pure entertainment. Mari Matthias was a great support act too.

Melin Melyn, Jericho Tavern, Oxford - 7th May 2025
I saw Melin Melyn by chance at a festival earlier in the year and when I saw this come up I bought tickets straight away. And they didn't disappoint with a very professional set up - such great tunes and played so well! A bit of banter added to the show but the music was just brilliant! In my head they're a Welsh Divine Comedy which can only be a good thing. Will definitely look out for more gigs in the future.

Melin Melyn, The Corn Exchange, Newport - 4th October 2024
Melin Melyn are a Welsh psychedelic indie band known for their eclectic sound, surreal storytelling and playful energy. Blending elements of folk, psych-rock and surf-pop, they craft music that is as whimsical as it is musically rich, often incorporating Welsh-language lyrics and quirky narratives into their songs. Their 2021 debut EP, Blomonj, introduced audiences to their unique sonic world, featuring standout tracks like “Rebecca” and “Lucy’s Odyssey”. Their follow-up EP, Happy Gathering (2022), continued to showcase their ability to mix nostalgic melodies with offbeat humour, drawing comparisons to artists like Super Furry Animals and Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci.
A vibrant live act, Melin Melyn have won over crowds at UK festivals including Green Man, The Great Escape and End of the Road, as well as headlining packed shows at venues like Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff and London’s Moth Club. Their performances are fun, theatrical and full of personality, making them one of the most exciting and inventive bands emerging from the Welsh music scene today.
