Ist Ist and Vlure, what isn’t there to like?
Ist Ist are on the verge of bringing out their new album and playing some big gigs. So to catch them again at an intimate venue is worth the ticket price alone. From ‘Fear’ to ‘You’re mine’, the set was flawless! Another stonking set! Vlure were playing in ‘Dust’, which is way too small a venue for them! The place was packed to the door. Hot and sweaty audience lapping up their uplifting music and trying to find enough room to dance! Back at the Hope and Ruin to catch the second half of The Sick Man of Europe and although there were some technical issues, although that didn’t come across that way, was their ramshackle post punk soundtrack which once it kicks off… really kicks off! The band played almost freestyle while the frontman spends more time pacing up and down the audience space than time on stage! His vocal sound, a deep gravel like baritone, is mesmerising as is his pacing! Catch them when you can! Check out the vegan food in the Hope and Ruin too. Another great night out in Brighton!
