Pet Needs, The Drill, Lincoln - 29th January 2025

Electrifying Gig

The sound quality at the Hairy Dog is among the best in Europe and hosting Pet Needs really gave the system and the brilliant soundman the chance to demonstrate their superb abilities. The support band, Mad Rollers from Rome in Italy, kicked the show off with energetic glam-rock vibes delivered in a punk rock frock. Their bass player was particularly alluring! After a short interval, during which the anticipation and audience numbers grew and grew, Pet Needs positively EXPLODED onto the stage in a riot of leaps (them) and screaming (us). We were treated to a performance of epic proportions as Johnny bounded around the stage, pitch-perfect on the mic, accompanied by a band so refined and polished that they could probably play their instruments behind their backs and still be as brilliant. Their set was exhilarating, exciting and awe-inspiring. Pet Needs set the place on fire.

PET NEEDS, The Hairy Dog, Derby - 7th July 2024

£14 well spent.

For £14 this was a great mid week night out. Only just become aware of them but on this performance I’d definitely go and see them again if they were in town. Very energetic and passionate show. Wasn’t that keen on the support but hey ho, everyone has to start somewhere.

Pet Needs, The Bullingdon, Oxford - 24th April 2024

Pet Needs smashed it again in Oxford

The Bullingdon is a great venue for live music and Pet Needs and support were absolutely brilliant. The gig was hugely energetic and the atmosphere was great.

Pet Needs, The Bullingdon, Oxford - 24th April 2024

Pet Needs are a high-energy punk rock band from Colchester, UK, known for their explosive live shows, sharp-witted lyrics, and anthemic choruses. Fronted by Johnny Marriott, the band blends elements of classic punk, indie rock, and post-punk, drawing comparisons to IDLES, Frank Turner, and The Clash. Their music is filled with raw emotion, tongue-in-cheek humour, and a defiant DIY ethos that has earned them a dedicated following.

Their debut album, Fractured Party Music (2021), was produced by Frank Turner, who later took them on tour as a support act. The follow-up, Primetime Entertainment (2022), showcased a refined yet still chaotic sound, tackling themes of modern life, anxiety, and self-reflection.

Having attracted attention with their relentless live shows, Pet Needs have toured extensively supporting Frank Turner, The Lottery Winners, The Bouncing Souls, Flogging Molly, Skinny Lister, The Hives, Art Brut, NOFX, The Levellers, Spike & The Gimmie and Gimmies and Laura Jane Grace. Their own headline tours in the UK have previously sold out including their annual Fractured Party Festival which took place in May 2025 at The Garage in London and The Old Church in Stoke Newington. They’ve played the Main Stage at Beautiful Days and Bearded Theory Festivals and won over fans at 2000Trees, Dot To Dot, The Salty Dog Cruise and many more.
