The big surprise should be that Peter Perrett is still here, given the post-Only Ones 'lost years'. But not only did he bounce onto the stage, full of vim and vigour and very much alive, he went on to deliver a barnstorming set backed by a brilliant band. Excitingly for anyone who loves his music, the newer tracks, from his last album and the next due to be released in a few days time, stood up strongly against some of the material from 40 years ago. While perhaps nothing tops the live blast of 'Another Girl..." there were plenty of contenders for instant classic status. Perrett is clearly an erudite and amusing man so it's a little disappointing that we didn't hear more from him between songs, but that's a minor quibble on a great night for music.

Peter Perrett, Scala, London - 29th May 2019
To come back from almost 20yrs of obscurity to make this fantastic album and give an incredible performance was wonderful to see. His beautiful voice has become richer with age and he sung I think most if not all the songs on the new album plus more which was a real treat. Another Girl, Another Planet was the icing on the cake. The whole band sounded awesome and they all looked as though they were enjoying it as much as the crowd. All in all a brilliant night, at a great venue, felt like a resurrection . So glad this talented man made another album, an English Lou Reed!

Peter Perrett, Electric Ballroom, London - 4th November 2017
Rolling back the years Peter Perrett in increasingly relaxed and confident form showcased his excellent new album . With a superb band behind him including family who were clearly there on merit both the new material and a selection of Only Ones songs were performed to a receptive audience. This was an exceptional performance and certainly one of the best gigs I have been to this year.
