Robyn Hitchcock is a revered rock and psych-folk songwriter whose surreal lyricism, melodic flair and unmistakably British wit have made him one of the most distinctive voices in alternative music. He first came to prominence as the frontman of The Soft Boys, a band whose blend of jangling guitars and off-kilter imagination produced the cult classic Underwater Moonlight (1980). Stepping into a solo career, Hitchcock continued to explore the spaces between the absurd and the heartfelt, beginning with Black Snake Diamond Röle (1981), and building a body of work celebrated for its poetic eccentricity, sharp character studies and shimmering psychedelic textures.
A prolific artist, Hitchcock has spent his career moving with ease between raw acoustic confessionals, electric freak-outs and rich, full-band arrangements. His album Life After Infinity (2023) sits among dozens of releases that showcase his ability to evolve without losing the curious, dreamlike charm that has defined his songwriting for decades. Whether performing in intimate venues or on major stages, he brings warmth, wit and a sense of wonder to every performance, earning devoted fans across the generations.
