Absolutely brilliant as always

A great night out, the band are still so good live

Ruts DC, Thekla, Bristol - 2nd December 2025

Nostalgic and Top Quality Evening

It was great to hear some old classic of 45 years or more in a friendly venue. It never ceases to amaze me how easily the lyrics are remembered! RUTS D.C were excellent as a 3 piece with their ELECTRacoustiC show. There were 2 sets and an encore mixing material from across 6 decades. For sure, I’ll be catching them on future tours. My only regret? Why’s it taken me over 45 years to go and see them sooner!

RUTS DC , The Hairy Dog, Derby - 14th July 2024

Another Great Performance

Always a great gig. They’re always so honest, professional & brilliant in their performance, in addition to genuinely showing that they’re clearly enjoying themselves. Should of been bigger than what they are. Great guys, great band.

Ruts DC, O2 Academy2 Sheffield, Sheffield - 16th February 2019

Ruts DC emerged from London’s late'1970s punk scene, evolving from the influential band The Ruts. Their debut album The Crack (1979) featured the UK top ten single “Babylon’s Burning” and the iconic track “In a Rut,” cementing their place as punk pioneers. Following the tragic death of lead singer Malcolm Owen in 1980, the remaining members—Segs, Paul Fox and Dave Ruffy—reformed as Ruts DC, embracing a dub-infused punk sound with albums such as Animal Now (1981). Their music has remained politically charged and socially conscious, blending punk energy with reggae and post-punk experimentation.

Over the years, Ruts DC have maintained a strong live presence in the UK, appearing at festivals like Rebellion and Rockaway Beach and headlining venues from Brighton to Blackpool. Recent albums such as Music Must Destroy (2016) showcase their enduring creativity, while stripped-back ELECTRacoustic performances have won praise from UK audiences. They continue to honour their legacy while evolving their sound, ensuring that the spirit of The Ruts lives on in every performance.
