Scissor Sisters are an American pop-rock group celebrated for their theatrical flair, boundary-pushing creativity, and unmistakably dance-driven sound.

Formed in New York City in 2001 by unmistakable vocalist Jake Shears and multi-instrumentalist Babydaddy (Scott Hoffman), the lineup soon expanded to include vocalist Ana Matronic, drummer Randy Real, and guitarist Del Marquis, solidifying a dynamic collective that blended glam rock, disco, electro-pop, and queer performance art into something wholly their own.

The band broke through internationally with their 2004 self-titled debut album, which became one of the decade’s best-selling records in the UK and produced hits like “Take Your Mama”, "Laura", "Filthy/Gorgeous" and their beloved reimagining of Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb.”

Since then, the band have solidified themselves as one of the most beloved pop-rock groups, celebrating pure queer joy. Their inspirations of burlesque, drag-queens and glam rock fuel their electrifying live performances, including a rave-reviewed appearance at 2025's Glastonbury Festival. Their disco-revivalism, glitter-soaked cabaret and pure musicianship cement them in pop and queer history.
