Sleep Theory are a Memphis-based rock quartet formed in 2019, fronted by ex-Army vocalist Cullen Moore and rounded out by bassist/ backing vocalist Paolo Vergara, guitarist/unclean vocalist Daniel Pruitt and drummer Ben Pruitt. Their sound blends robust riffs of alternative metal and hard rock with rhythms and vocal sensibilities borrowed from R&B and pop—an unexpected fusion that allows them to resound with both visceral power and emotional depth. Initially conceived as Moore’s solo project after his military service, the band quickly coalesced when Vergara and the Pruitt brothers joined, building a full band identity ready to elevate.
Their 2023 EP Paper Hearts generated over 30 million streams and paved the way for their debut studio album Afterglow (2025), which entered the U.S. Billboard 200 at No. 117. With singles such as “Numb”, “Stuck in My Head” and “Static”, the band have been gathering momentum and announcing their first UK/European headline tour. As they consistently articulate: if genre expectations don’t fit their ambition, they’ll rewrite them on their own terms.
