Great show

I decided to see The Academic after seeing them a couple of times last year as a support act around Europe. Expieriencing a whole set was really worth the travel. The show was great, The Academic did once more a fantastic job. I also liked Siobhan Winifried as support. The venue was a good size to be pretty close. It's located perfectly close to the beach and the city center.

Amazing show

The show was so good.. The academic boys put on a fantastic performance.. One of the LOUDEST shows I’ve been to .. my ears are still ringing but in a good way..the crowd had a cool vibe.. we sang, we screamed, we jumped, we danced and there was many friendships made…thank you for a brilliant night ..

Brilliant!

My daughter and her friend are fans and absolutely loved the evening. They love the band and seeing them live was the best experience.

The Academic, Electric Brixton, London - 26th April 2024

The Academic are one of Ireland’s most exciting indie rock bands, known for their infectious melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and electrifying live shows. Formed in Mullingar, this four-piece group—Craig Fitzgerald, Dean Gavin, and brothers Stephen and Matt Murtagh—burst onto the scene with their 2018 debut album Tales From The Backseat. The record topped the Irish charts and gained international acclaim for its anthemic choruses and sharp storytelling, drawing fans from across the UK, Europe, and North America.

Since their breakout, The Academic have built a loyal fanbase through a string of critically acclaimed releases, including Acting My Age (2020), Community Spirit (2021), and their second album, Sitting Pretty. Their music, which blends nostalgic guitar hooks with modern indie vibes, has earned them high-profile tours supporting The Killers, Noel Gallagher, and The Rolling Stones. With their sound evolving and ambitions growing, the band sees their journey as one of constant reinvention. “We’re different people now, and that’s natural,” says bassist Stephen Murtagh. Known for their humility and connection to fans, The Academic are gearing up for the next chapter of their career, driven by bold creativity and a passion for reaching new audiences.
