Menacing and poignant
Great little venue. Two wonderful new bands. The Murder Capital are dark and intense. Great stage presence and the songs are all delivered with maximum feeling.

Intense,brutal and beautiful
Fantastic performance from start to finish. Got better and better as it went along. Policed the crowd well with 1 gent being singled out for shoving a lady into the stage. Great little venue but no doubt these would sound good anywhere

The Murder Capital, The Big Difference (formerly The Cookie), Leicester - 24th July 2019
The Murder Capital are an Irish post-punk band from Dublin, formed in 2015. Known for their intense and brooding sound, they quickly gained attention with their debut album When I Have Fears (2019), featuring standout singles like "Green & Blue" and "Don’t Cling to Life." Their follow-up album Gigi’s Recovery (2023) further solidified their reputation for dark, atmospheric music. The band’s live performances are raw and emotional, earning them slots at major festivals such as All Points East. They have supported acts like Foals and IDLES on tour, becoming key figures in the modern post-punk revival.
