I have seen The Shires many times over the years and they are fantastic, musicians, songwriters and performers, who simply get better every time they perform. This is astonishing because right out of the gate they set the bar really high. Ben and Crissie help to make the world a beautiful place with the wonderful songs that they have written and the warm and friendly nature that they both have. What made this concert so special for me was the opening performance by the incredibly talented Alyssa Bonagura, who also joined The Shires on stage for a couple of numbers. This was an outstanding acoustic performance which I will never forget. The venue was also fabulous with great stage lighting and crystal clear sound, even the chairs we comfortable. A really brilliant night out, thank you everyone.

The Shires, Ffwrnes Theatre, Llanelli - 8th June 2025
Went to see 'The Shires - The Two of Us' last weekend at St Nicholas Chapel in Kings Lynn. The first time we've been to see them and the first time we've experienced this type of concert in a church (albeit a large one) and it certainly added to the experience. The supporting act, a couple recently married and whose name I can't remember (apologies), perhaps overdid the talking and could have sung one or two more songs but I think are still relative newcomers and can be forgiven for that. Crissie and Ben themselves gave an excellent performance with some better known and more personal songs which I'm sure everyone who went enjoyed thoroughly. If I have one small niggle it would be that it was sometimes difficult to pick up what both acts were saying between songs, which may have been down to the loudness of the system or simply I need to get my ears tested!! Overall a very enjoyable evening and we wouldn't hesitate to go and see the Shires again.

The Shires - The Two Of Us, St Nicholas' Chapel, King's Lynn - 12th October 2024
I was not familiar with their music, but enjoyed the melodies and harmonies. The venue was atmospheric but a little impractical. The screens did little to assist visibility for example. I also thought Outpost Drive were a great support band with a lot of potential.

A really enjoyable evening of live music at the Wedgewood Rooms. The Shires were superb. Great connection to the audience who were encouraged to sing along at various stages. The support act were good but the 90 minute wait between doors opening and the Shires coming on was interminable & irritating. Mostly forgotten as soon as the duo started singing.

The Shires are one of Britain’s most successful country acts, celebrated for blending Nashville-styled storytelling with unmistakable UK warmth. Formed in 2013 by Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes, the duo became the first British country artists to break into the UK Top 10 with their debut album Brave (2015), introducing audiences to their rich harmonies, heartfelt songwriting and transatlantic charm. Follow-up albums including My Universe (2016), Accidentally on Purpose (2018) and Good Years (2020) cemented their reputation as pioneers of the modern British country movement, bringing relatable lyricism and soaring, melodic choruses to fans on both sides of the Atlantic.
Live, The Shires are warm, charismatic performers whose natural chemistry and emotional sincerity make every show feel personal. They have graced major festivals, toured the US, and become regular favourites at events such as C2C: Country to Country, where their blend of pop-leaning hooks and rootsy authenticity has won them a devoted following. With chart success, multiple acclaimed albums and a sound that bridges the gap between Nashville polish and British storytelling, The Shires continue to lead the UK country scene with confidence, heart and undeniable charm.
