The Telescopes unique sound supported by the Deadwood Superstars.
Derby based group the Deadwood Superstars were a good opening band at the Dubrek Studios, Derby. The guitarists were excellent especially the bass player. The singing was extremely good. We'd definitely see this group again. The Telescopes had a unique, almost hypnotic sound. The singer was great. I was fascinated by the bass player and the drummer who looked as though he had given his all in this set! His technique with the beaters reminded me of the sound of drumming made by the indiginous American people and with the bass, it just gelled. Personally, the intentional feedback using the guitars was not a favourite part of the set for me, but all in all it was a different experience and totally unique. How this band finished the set was different. The singer stalked off of the stage and was followed by the rest of the band. Unique! I'd see the Telescopes again as well!
