As ever, the Wave Pictures were an absolute joy. Fun interaction with the crowd, some great stage presence. I struggled to describe their music to colleagues when taking about pages for the evening. Eventually settled on Johnathon Richman covered by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Often playful tunes, delivered with power and virtuosity. (Sorry..... pretentious 'one hand clapping moment ') For once got to the (excellent indy) venue on time. Regret that this meant that I've missed out previously on the treat of the fabulously fun support act "I Am Ian'.

The Wave Pictures were fantastic the support band My Name is Ian were also excellent. The sound engineer also did a fantastic job. The sound was perfect. The venue is my new favourite venue easily accessible just around the corner from the train station. Friendly clean and compact. Great beer, friendly staff and we really enjoyed the table football in the bar after the gig.

Exceptional band. Always one to see. They would get five stars but only Elvis gets five stars and he doesn't play Newport that much.

It's been too many years since I'd seen The Wave Pictures, so it was great to catch them at Firebug. I brought along a work colleague, now happily converted to the Church of Wymeswold. A great evening, gents!

A homecoming gig of sorts - in their home county of Leicestershire. They were excellent and by rights should be massive.

The Wave Pictures are a cherished fixture in the UK indie scene, known for their witty lyrics and jangly guitar riffs. Albums like City Forgiveness (2013) and Brushes with Happiness (2018) demonstrate their knack for storytelling and musical experimentation.
Regulars on the UK gig circuit, they’ve headlined venues like The Garage and delighted fans at festivals like End of the Road. With a prolific discography and a charming stage presence, The Wave Pictures are a true gem of British indie music.
