Amazing venue Brilliant gig

Turin Bloody Brilliant Brakes - I could watch them every week. Beautiful songs, great rhythms super positive vibes, the accoustic set really allows you to soak in the harmonies. Little bit of chat (and Eddie always makes me laugh) love to hear a little about the back stories to songs. And a beautiful venue (never been before). Thanks guys see you next time

Turin Brakes are a British folk-rock duo known for their melodic acoustic sound, introspective lyrics and rich harmonies. Formed in London in the late 1990s by childhood friends Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian, they gained widespread recognition with their Mercury Prize-nominated debut album, The Optimist LP (2001), which featured the standout track “Underdog (Save Me).” Their follow-up, Ether Song (2003), propelled them further into the mainstream with the hit single “Painkiller (Summer Rain),” blending folk influences with a more expansive, atmospheric sound. Over the years, albums like JackInABox (2005), Lost Property (2016) and Wide-Eyed Nowhere (2022) have showcased their evolving yet consistently warm and soulful songwriting.

A staple of the UK live circuit, Turin Brakes have played iconic venues such as London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, as well as major festivals including Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Cambridge Folk Festival. With a career spanning over two decades, they remain one of the UK’s most beloved indie-folk acts, continuing to captivate audiences with their intimate, heartfelt performances and timeless songwriting.
