ABC are a pioneering English pop band formed in Sheffield in the early eighties, celebrated for their stylish blend of new wave, glossy pop and soulful sophistication. Fronted by the charismatic Martin Fry, the group became one of the defining acts of the decade with their polished production, elegant songwriting and unmistakable visual flair. Their debut album The Lexicon of Love (1982) remains a landmark of British pop — a lush, orchestral record featuring hits such as “Poison Arrow”, “The Look of Love” and “All of My Heart”. Its cinematic sound and emotional sweep helped cement ABC as icons of the era.

Across their career, ABC continued to evolve, experimenting with dance-pop, funk and electronic textures on albums including Beauty Stab (1983), How to Be a ... Zillionaire! (1985) and Alphabet City (1987). Martin Fry has kept the ABC name alive with dynamic live performances, where the band’s sharp melodies and sophisticated pop craftsmanship continue to captivate audiences old and new. With enduring hits, stylish reinvention and an unmistakable voice at the helm, ABC remain one of Britain’s most distinctive and influential pop outfits.
