I unfortunately missed the opening band as I had to travel hours for the show. This did not hinder the amazing two performances I saw, nor make the night any less amazing. Managed to show an American the scene and how great British metal is at the moment. The mosh pits were damaging yet extremely respectful. These bands are moving on to big things but still playing the small shows, from my perspective.

Love a show with no stage. Right in their faces.

Employed To Serve is a British metalcore band renowned for their explosive sound and fierce intensity. Formed in Woking, England, the band blends elements of hardcore, metal, and post-metal, delivering a raw, unrelenting sonic experience. Led by the ferocious vocals of frontwoman Justine Jones, the band’s music is characterised by heavy, groove-laden riffs, pulverising drums, and emotionally charged lyrics that explore themes of personal struggle, defiance, and empowerment.
Their breakthrough album, The Warmth of a Dying Sun (2017), marked a pivotal moment in their career, earning critical acclaim for its technical prowess and emotional depth. The band continued to push their boundaries with Eternal Forward Motion (2019), which further solidified their reputation as one of the most exciting acts in the UK’s heavy music scene. Known for their blistering live performances, Employed To Serve has toured extensively, sharing stages with bands like Architects, While She Sleeps, and Rolo Tomassi. With their relentless energy and genre-defying approach, they continue to carve a unique space in modern metal and hardcore.
