Best gig of the year
This year I’ve seen Foo Fighters, AC/DC, Stevie Nicks, but Skinny Lister was the best gig of the year by miles. Cracking night 🍻

Skinny Lister, Scala, London - 13th December 2024
A riot, as usual.
Ben was a great opener, Rusty Shackle great value support. Skinny Lister (RIP Mule) delivered a barnstorming 22 song set of old favourites and a couple of newer, but excellent numbers. Final encore interrupt as crowd surfing Lorna broke a fan's nose. Not exactly Trouble on Oxford street but more the sort of collateral damage you expect from a Skinny Lister night out

Great concert
Skinny Lister were brilliant, they are very energetic and create a great atmosphere. Having been to this venue previously would have been more ideal if the upstairs would have been open as seats and this was closed off - probably due to amount of tickets sold and the need to provide less staff - although the turn out was good.

Skinny Lister is a high-energy British folk-punk band known for their raucous live performances, infectious melodies, and anthemic singalongs. Formed in London in 2009, the group quickly made a name for themselves with their lively mix of traditional folk instrumentation, punk spirit, and sea-shanty-inspired choruses. Their debut album, Forge & Flagon (2012), introduced their rowdy pub-style sound, leading to extensive touring and festival appearances, including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, and Download Festival.
Building on their reputation as an electrifying live act, Skinny Lister continued to release critically acclaimed albums such as Down on Deptford Broadway (2015), The Devil, The Heart & The Fight (2016), and A Matter of Life & Love (2021), each filled with foot-stomping anthems and heartfelt ballads. Having shared stages with acts like Frank Turner and Flogging Molly, the band has built a devoted following both in the UK and internationally.
